Electric Vehicle Survey

Houghton and Wyton Parish Council
Electric Vehicle Survey, Spring 2019

As a forward-looking Parish Council, we are exploring the possibility of applying for funding, through Cambridgeshire County Council,

to the On-street Residential Charge point Scheme (ORCS) set up by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV).

Funding is available until the end of the 19/20 financial year to provide on-street electric vehicle charging points,

primarily for residents without access to off-street parking.

To begin with, we are gathering data on current and potential future electric vehicle ownership within the parish.

Notes

1.         Grants of up to £3500 are currently available towards the purchase of some electric vehicles. For further information see: https://www.gov.uk/plug-in-car-van-grants

2.         OLEV is providing grants of up to £500 towards the costs of installing an electric vehicle home charge point. For further information see: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/government-grants-for-low-emission-vehicles

3.         If planning restrictions make it difficult to install a home-charge point, you might benefit from on-street charging.
