The election for a new Parish Council (scheduled for Thurs 3 May 2018) has been declared as Uncontested. That means there were insufficient nominations to cause a poll therefore those people nominated have been declared duly elected as Parish Councillors (Notice of Uncontested Election issued by HDC dated 7 April 2018).

Please note that elections for District Councillors will still take place on the 3 May.

5 current Councillors chose not to stand again and no new candidates came forward so there were only 4 nominations and therefore the new Council  will come into being on Tuesday 8 May 2018 with the following Councillors:

Ray Baxendale,     David Bonny,       Steve Hodgson     and      David Keane        and 5 vacancies

This is not a desirable situation especially as 4 is the minimum number of Councillors to take votes (quorum).

However the new Council is able to coopt additional Councillors to fill the vacancies. If you are interested please contact the Clerk who will tell you the procedure.
